Leaving The Nest
Inspired by the concept of a Nest, this work is on the beauty and joy within the anxiety and uncertainties of first stepping outside of a place of safety and comfort. Whether it is leaving home, graduating from school, or moving to a new place, the transition of moving on and away from the old and into the new is experienced throughout life. Kites, as a symbol of searching for freedom, fate, and exploring new horizons intertwine with the numerous leaps of faith and rites of passage experienced by many.
